Hours and Access

ArtSeed’s office is open 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday.

To visit ArtSeed’s office during normal business hours, enter the Thoreau Center through the entrance at Buildings 1007, 1008, and 1009. Make an immediate left through the wooden double doors and ArtSeed’s office, Suite #206, will be the first office door on your left.

When entering the Thoreau Center through Tides at the front of the building (1012 Torney Avenue), continue through the double doors at the far left leading to a window-lined passageway. Make a right at the end of the hall through the wooden double doors and ArtSeed’s office, Suite #206, will be the first office door on your left.

On weekends and holidays, call ahead and come prepared with your cell phone so that someone can let you in the building. We will also hang a purple rock climbing rope from our office window connected to a ringing bell. If you see it, give the rope a tug, and let us know you are here!

Driving Directions to the Thoreau Center for Sustainability
Enter the Presidio via Presidio Blvd. or Lombard St. (if using Lombard St., follow until its end and turn right onto Presidio Blvd.) and continue until you merge onto Lincoln Blvd. Turn right onto Girard St. and then turn right onto Eddie Road. Park in the asphalt lot on your right where you will find the accessible ramp that leads to the Thoreau Center entrance.

Additional parking can be found two blocks further along Lincoln Blvd. Instead of turning right onto Girard St., turn left onto Anza Ave. and park along the Main Post Lawn on your right.

Public Transportation Directions

MUNI Line 43, from southern SF, runs through Presidio and to the Thoreau Center
MUNI Line 45, from Market and 4th, runs to the Presidio’s Lombard Gate
MUNI Line 28, from Daly City, runs along Lombard, the closest stop being where Lombard St. changes into Richardson Ave., near the Lombard Gate
MUNI Line 30 runs to Buchannan & Chestnut, nine blocks from the Lombard Gate

From downtown, the PresidiGO shuttle runs every half hour from California and Drumm at Embarcadero BART station to the Thoreau Center outside of the Tides entrance (1012 Torney Ave).
